This manga or should we say Manhwa is quite popular among fans, this story follows Sung Jin-woo who was just an E class hunter at the start but after an incident and he received an unusual power which lets him increase his level as he fights monsters.

Manga Similar to Solo Leveling

Solo Leveling aka Only I Level Up webtoon is drawn by artists Hyeon-Gun and Sung-Rak, the story is taken from a light novel by the same name. This article contains all the manhwa like solo leveling which I think should be listed here. If you readers have read any other manga or webtoon which you think should be included in this article, comment below and let us know. Without further ado, let us jump right into it.

I Am Sorcerer King

I Am Sorcerer King

Type: Manhwa

The story revolves around Lee Sung Hoon, who is kind of a sorry guy in this universe. There are many sections to this world, primarily for humans and monsters. These humans are not aware of the monsters’ existence until a rift in time and space is created between the two sections. This leads to a horde of monsters coming through the rift and into the humans’ section. And due to this, some select humans start evolving and attaining powers to defeat said monsters.

Sung Hoon is, unfortunately, not one of those. He has no special powers but because he is desperate to earn some money for his sick mother, he takes on dangerous jobs by being the monsters’ bait so that “the awakened” can defeat them. During one such job, he gets gravely injured and has flashbacks of his past life, where he was a sorcerer-king. After gaining his past life memories back, he starts to evolve himself, and thus his journey begins.

Anyone can easily see why this manga so similar to Solo Leveling. Both of them have portals that connect to a separate world. Both consist of awakened human beings and play with the idea of hunters. That being said, both have a certain uniqueness to them too. In Solo Leveling, the main character almost always functions alone, whereas in I Am Sorcerer King, the main character is part of a bigger organization.

Legendary Moonlight Sculptor

Legendary Moonlight Sculptor

Type: Manhwa

This is the story of Hyun Lee, who lives with his grandmother in poverty. He works hard day and night to earn a living for them and make ends meet. One day, he enters a virtual reality game called Royal Road to earn more money by selling his game account and relieving some, if not all, of his debts. But soon, he starts to play more and more to create an avatar that can bring enough money for him and his family.

There are some similarities as well as some differences in both Solo Leveling and LMS. Both have the main character who is weak at first but then gains powers. In both the manhwas, the main character has to grind to make money for his poor family. Both of them share the same leveling system. On the other hand, Solo Leveling is on the much darker side with portals opening to a world of monsters and fights and LMS is based on a VR game becoming the reality for the protagonist.

Everyone Else Is A Returnee

Everyone Else Is A Returnee

Type: Light Novel

This light novel revolves around Yu Ilhan who is left alone on this earth. All the other beings have left for other planets to survive the Great Cataclysm. It is a phenomenon that is to take place on Earth and ‘activate’ it. They were supposed to return in ten years but it has been a thousand years since their leaving. This story depicts the loneliness which Yu Ilhan suffers from. The reason for leaving Yu Ilhan behind is that he has certain abilities that surpass the average kind and will help him in surviving the Great Cataclysm. As the others start to return, the story digs deeper into the origin.

The story is quite similar to the plot description of Solo Leveling. The protagonist, in both of them, is stuck in his current situation and due to certain events is granted abilities and rises to the occasion.

Tomb Raider King

Tomb Raider King

Type: Manhwa

God’s tombs have started to appear everywhere. These tombs have special relics in them. Due to these relics, anyone who finds them will be able to wield amazing and very special powers. But a tomb raider king appears out of nowhere to steal all of these relics for himself. ‘What you own belongs to me, what I own belongs to me’. This tomb raider king will stop at nothing to possess all of these relics.

Tomb Raider king is one of the best manga like solo leveling. The artist of Solo Leveling and TRK is the same so visually, all the artwork of both the manhwas is the same. Both of them have a common game system/theme going on which is kind of unique. Both the protagonists die and then come back in time to raid dungeons. Therefore, there are a lot of similarities between Solo Leveling and TRK.

The Gamer

The Gamer

Type: Webtoon

The gamer is another great manga like solo leveling. The main protagonist of this webtoon is Han Jee Han. He stumbles to an unknown world by mistake and sets out on a journey to answer many of its questioning elements. His ability is that of a ‘gamer’. That is because he plays video games all the time and is outstandingly good at them. He soon discovers that there are monsters to be killed and defeated in this world and thus begins his journey.

Although The Gamer is on the lighter side than Solo Leveling, both are based on the concept of games and leveling up. Here also, the protagonist doesn’t realize his abilities and due to certain circumstances stumbles upon them. If you like Solo Leveling, then you will like The Gamer as well.

Winter Moon

Winter Moon

Type: Webtoon

The webtoon follows the story of a gay sorcerer, Florence, and a seductive priestess, Risa, in an online RPG game. It shows how their paths cross each other. Of course, there are other characters as well, but they are introduced a little bit later in the series. The artistic style is very beautiful and it is very easy to binge.

Of course, as it is a game style webtoon it is very similar to Solo Leveling but in the later seasons, it starts to get a little bit more intense than SL in terms of addressing real-life issues like bullying, abuse, etc. All of this gives the series a newfound depth.

So I’m a Spider, So What?

So I’m a Spider, So What?

Type: Manga

An average high school girl has been reborn into a magical world as a ….spider. What? That can’t be it’s so bizarre. But is it so. Now she has to survive in these scary dungeons where she has been reborn with other far more dangerous and scary creatures. She just might be the weakest among all the other monsters. She will have to understand the rules of this place as fast as she can.

Up until now, we have been only dealing with the point of view of humans but this is unique in its way as it shows the point of view of the monsters’ world. The protagonist here has been sent into the monsters’ world but not as herself, as a monster. It is similar to Solo Leveling, of course, but it is also quite different. Recommended.

Quan Zhi Gao Shou

Quan Zhi Gao Shou

Type: Manhwa

In an online multiplayer game, Glory, Ye Xiu is known as the top-tier player. He is one of the best players out there but due to a series of unfortunate incidents, he is expelled from his team. Now, with no game to play with, he sits in an internet café employed as one of the managers. As the tenth server of the game launches, he throws himself back into the game with 10 years of the gaming experience at his back. His quest to the top begins here.

Both Solo Leveling and Quan Zhi Gao Shaou are similar in terms of gaming and leveling concept but unlike Solo Leveling, Quan Zhi Gao Shaou keeps its readers on their toes. It has quite unexpected twists and turns which keeps things very interesting for the readers.

Emperor of Solo Play

Emperor of Solo Play

Type: Light Novel

The story is about Jaehyun, set in the year 2035. The VR game, Warlord has taken over the world. Jaehyun plays the game with utmost sincerity when, as soon as he is about to achieve what he wants, he faces a betrayal. His party betrayed him and left him behind. The story starts with the protagonist dying and then going back in time to achieve his dreams. This time he decides on playing solo, but the game requires guild formation so he does something unconventional. He becomes a necromancer.

You can see why it can be similar to Solo Leveling. Nothing more needs to be said about the similarities between the two. The main characteristic of this series is that the protagonist does not go back in time to exact revenge. Rather, he further pushes himself to achieve what he wants and does let emotions lead him astray.

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest

Type: Light Novel

A classroom of students is suddenly on day transported to a new world where all of them are assigned special abilities. Hajime Naguro is, unfortunately, not one of those. While all the other students are given the strongest skills, he is stuck with being the Synergist. In one of the dungeon quests, he finds himself separated from the group. Now he must pave a way for himself or rot forever in this unforgiving world.

The main characters of both Solo Leveling and Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest are similar in the sense of being the weakest first rising to the challenges. This series is a harem and a little bit ecchi. If you like that kind of stuff then this just might be the one for you.

On a further note, fans all around the globe are demanding an anime adaptation of this manga, also there is a petition running online on Change.org, which has more than 84000 signs. If you also want to see the anime adaptation of this manga you can sign the petition here.
